The first thing you usually have to sort out is what method of referencing your teacher requires for the assignment. APA? Harvard?
Happily for you, both APA and Harvard follow the same “recipe” to cite legislation
Short Title of the Act (in italics) Year (in italics) (Jurisdiction abbreviation) subdivision, if relevant.
The Jurisdiction relates to what State the legislation applies to - if it is a Commonwealth Act the abbreviation used is Cth
Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966 (NSW)
