I have confirmed with the teacher of the Diploma of Horticulture at Newcastle Campus that there are no required texts for this course.
There is a wide range of recommended subjects however, including weeds, soils, grasses, field guides, native plants, rainforests, trees, vegetation and more.
Hunter TAFE Libraries carry most , if not all, of these reference books, and you are able to borrow them directly as a TAFE student.
For a good overview of resources available, both in the libraries, and online, check out the Horticulture Libguide, created by Hunter TAFE library staff to support all horticulture students.
